- Document data: Content you enter to generate resumes, CVs, cover letters, invoices, and quotations.
- Uploaded files: Images or documents you upload via the scanner or avatar upload features.
- Usage data: Basic interaction logs to maintain platform stability and diagnose issues.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account and authenticate your sessions securely.
- To generate, store, and let you download your professional documents.
- To send transactional emails such as password reset instructions.
- To improve platform reliability, fix bugs, and enhance the user experience.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
3. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored using industry-standard cloud infrastructure. We apply appropriate technical and organisational safeguards — including encrypted connections (HTTPS), Firebase Authentication for secure login, and access-controlled database records — to protect against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
While no system is 100% secure, we continuously review and improve our security practices to protect your information.
4. Cookies & Tracking
DALOVU uses minimal cookies required to maintain your authenticated session. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking technologies. You may disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so may affect platform functionality.
5. Third-Party Services
We use trusted third-party services to operate the platform:
- Firebase (Google): Authentication and file storage.
- Prisma / PostgreSQL: Structured document and account data storage.
These services have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them. We share only the minimum data required for each service to function.
6. Your Rights
Under applicable law (including POPIA in South Africa), you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate or outdated information.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing of your data.

7. Data Retention
We retain your account and document data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it by law.
8. Children's Privacy
DALOVU is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of DALOVU after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
